Project Overview

Suchhu Hydropower Project is a  run-of-river scheme on the Suchhu River in Haa, Bhutan. With an installed capacity of 18 MW, the project is designed to harness the steep gradients and consistent flow of the river to generate clean, renewable energy for domestic use and export to neighbouring markets.

NexGen Hydro Consult Private Limited provided services of detailed design and engineering consultancy for the construction of project's civil and hydraulic infrastructure, ensuring alignment with international best practices and Bhutan's stringent environmental standards. The project was commissioned in May 2025.
