Project Overview

Bunakha Hydropower Project is a storage project on the Wangchu River in Chukha District, western Bhutan. With a planned capacity of 180 MW, it is designed to provide substantial clean energy to the grid while supporting regional economic development.

NexGen Hydro Consult was engaged to provide support in design and engineering consultancy for the project's civil infrastructure, including the dam, tunnels, and powerhouse as a National Partner to JV of Fichtner & Jade. Our team brought deep expertise in geotechnical engineering and cost estimation to ensure the project's success.
